I Photoshopped My Toddler into our Christmas Card
Ok, ok. I know the title may throw you off.
Really, I wanted to make this post for a couple of quick reasons.
The first is simply to brag on my photoshop skills. I’ve been working on teaching myself little tricks here and there and honestly, that’s a feat when you consider that every time James walks into the room he tells me to “stop working” and even shuts my laptop for me on occasion. I originally pushed myself to learn a couple tricks to tweak coloring in my photos. Also, my photo editing skills (I guess and my time management) is essentially what keeps me from pursuing a photography business full time. So, I’m proud of this little trick because I’ve been trying to get better at it.
The second reason is to remind you as we all put the 2019 holidays behind us, that all of the posed Christmas cards aren’t a reflection of reality. While we’re at it, neither is social media. Although we inherently know this to be true, sometimes it’s worth a quick reminder because of the comparison that comes along with both the Christmas season and social media as a whole. What you see isn’t always what is real.
Our Christmas photos were taken at Crude Coffee in Fort Worth by Marnie Ellyse Photography. Oh, and yeah, we know that Ian isn’t wearing shoes in our photos. It was a thing. Let’s move on, shall we?
Here is the original photo.
Here’s a photo of everyone looking a hot mess but with James nailing it.
Pair the two together.
Add some background shading and a little more of a smile from Ian.
Mail them out.
special thanks to Marnie Ellyse Photography for trusting me to edit her professional photos and giving me the creative freedom to do so
